This uitstekend piece dates to the late 1910s to the very early 1920s. The filigree framework of the ring is green gold, verguld that has been alloyed with silver to give it a pale green hue! The top of the ring is an engraved framework of white gold that is decorated with classical motifs.
We’ve set this beautiful mounting with a new gemstone, a tourmaline that is completely in keeping with what sort of stone would originally have been set in this ring. The color of the gem, a pale but rich, watery green-blue hue that is filled with crisp undertones, is the perfect complement for the springtime hues of the mounting.
